It was a brilliant move then, and it still holds true today. All the smarter companies still use this strategy today, one only has to look at the cult event that is WWDC to see it.

On Aug 19th Microsoft made a brilliant move in reaching out to the platform-less WebOS community and offering a them a new home.

In response they have gotten over 500 developers emailed in with interest…

1 Tweet = 500 new people building on your platform..what a return on that tweet investment.

Bravo Microsoft, it seems your new place as underdog has gotten your innovation wheels turning again. I am excited to see your next move.
